The parched ground shall become a pool . . . —Isaiah 35:7
Yesterday we discussed that planning is not really for the Christian, at least not planning without God. God has the plan, He conveys orders to us to guide us in the fulfillment of the plan. He sometimes gives a vision of His plan.
We all have visions. A vision of warm beaches or cool mountains can lead to a vacation. A vision of a wonderful meal can lead us to a restaurant or the supermarket. A vision of unemployment can get us up and to work in the morning. Visions arise from our lives and the people in our lives. If we have a relationship with God, they will come from Him. The receipt of visions is a mountain top experience. We see the final product; but He sends us into the valley to work out the fulfillment of the vision.
Let me give you a practical example. Last week before going on mission, Pastor asked me to convey information to the church on the events of the trip. He would text me updates and I would get them to the church via the web. That was easy. All I had to was email the updates to the Amana Prayer Partners. But I got a vision. What if we had a continuing web presence where the activities and needs of all of our missionaries could be conveyed to all those interested. I know that each week we feature a missionary group. Why not focus on the featured missionaries and their needs and mission. I had long desired a web presence which presented our missionaries, but the numbers and work involved overwhelmed me. Now God has given a vision and plan that will put the web presence together week by week.
So I created a blog, Amana Missions. Each week I will post information about the featured missionaries and from any other missions that have something going on. As the weeks past we will have a collection of information about our missions. Now from the mountain top vision to the valley. Last week was easy. I know the mission group and got daily updates from our missionaries. This week is tougher. All I have are their names, where they serve and a picture. More work to do. But that’s how visions work. We move from the big picture of what will be to working out the details.
Has God given you a vision. Do you know it’s from God? Are you marching through the valley so that God can accomplish it? It’s what we are here for. We are vision carriers from the mountains to the valleys. Its a blessing.
Oh and check out the vision when you get a chance: http://amanamissions.blogspot.com
