For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, Colossians 1:13
You are not hidden
There’s never been a moment
You were forgotten
You are not hopeless
Though you have been broken
Your innocence stolen
There’s never been a moment
You were forgotten
You are not hopeless
Though you have been broken
Your innocence stolen
I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS
I hear your SOS, your SOS
I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
If you are truly a follower of Jesus, you have been rescued. It may have taken a spiritual army. It might have been relatively easy. The rescue continues because you and I continue to reside in enemy territory. We can’t find a good place to hide until the end. We are not only in the occupied territory but we are there on a mission.
We have a job to do. The enemy seems powerful and the task seems impossible. We have to focus on its simplicity. Our task is to live as rescued people and to tell our rescue story.
Rescue Story
There I was empty-handed
Crying out from the pit of my despair
There You were in the shadows
Holding out Your hand You met me there
Crying out from the pit of my despair
There You were in the shadows
Holding out Your hand You met me there
And now where would I be without You?
Where would I be, Jesus?
Where would I be, Jesus?
You were the voice in the desert
Calling me out in the dead of night
Fighting my battles for me
You are my rescue story
Lifted me up from the ashes
Carried my soul from death to life
Bringing me from glory to glory
You are my rescue story
Calling me out in the dead of night
Fighting my battles for me
You are my rescue story
Lifted me up from the ashes
Carried my soul from death to life
Bringing me from glory to glory
You are my rescue story
You are, You are
You are my rescue story
You are, You are
You are my rescue story
You are, You are
You were writing the pages
Before I had a name
Before I needed grace, oh
Singing songs of redemption
‘Cause every time I ran away
You were louder than my shame
Before I had a name
Before I needed grace, oh
Singing songs of redemption
‘Cause every time I ran away
You were louder than my shame
And now where would I be without You?
Where would I be, Jesus?
Where would I be, Jesus?
You were the voice in the desert
Calling me out in the dead…
Calling me out in the dead…
Sometimes the message is clearer on the radio than from the pulpits. God will use any means. Our rescue is His Mission.
