Cryosurgery

I had a really productive day yesterday. I had cryosurgery at 8:20 in the morning. Before you send me  flowers or plan providing meals during my recovery period, you should perhaps know that my cryosurgery consisted of freezing some “pre-cancerous” lesions on my bald head. It took about 3 minutes and was painless. I just wanted to use the word, “Cryosurgery.” I also wanted to use “pre-cancerous.” It sounds much more significant than “bumps.”

I also cleared up the staircase to my office as a first step in office reorganization. I babysat the cable guy while he replaced my cable box. I had an hour-long and very satisfying conversation with an important client. I did lots of office paperwork. I helped Rosemary in the garden. I helped Tyler work on a toilet at Martha’s. This was mainly just holding the flashlight and paying for parts. I also managed to watch part of, and listen to part of, the UL softball team’s exciting one run win over McNeese.

It helps that I woke up at 3 a.m. The Lord woke me with a clear direction that I should research the beginning of my blogging experience. It turns out in June 2008 our pastor had passed out Man of God devotional books. We had just established a google group for getting out prayer requests and church announcements. I found the Man of God Devotional online and each day posted the devotional for the day with my comments. After the 25 day devotional, I decided to continue producing a morning devotional. I spent the early morning hours yesterday cut and pasting these early devotionals into a word document. So far I have only made it to August 8, 2008. It’s been fun and nostalgic to recall the writings and the events that were going on in my life in 2008. That summer I took Rose and Allison and a very pregnant Jessica for a few days in San Antonio. I even sent out a devotional each day from the trip. It’s hard to believe that was nearly six years ago.

I’m hoping the compilation will turn into a book. I would appreciate your prayers on that.

I pray for productive days for all of us. I hope some of that production will have eternal significance. If you find out you need cryosurgery, give me a call. I have all the inside poop.
